Dr. Steve Rappleyea, an educator with 36 years of experience, holds degrees in psychology, school psychology, and educational leadership from institutions including the University at New Paltz, Pace University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, and California Southern University. His career spans roles as an elementary physical education teacher, school psychologist, regional consultant, Assistant Superintendent for PPS, and adjunct lecturer at Marist and New Paltz. Currently, he serves as a specialist at the New York State MTSS-I Center at the University at Albany, coaching school districts across the state to improve student support systems. With experience consulting for over 40 districts and observing in more than a thousand classrooms, Steve is deeply committed to bridging research and practice in education. Coming from a family rooted in the education profession, he considers this work “the family business.” Describing himself as an Educational Engineer and MTSS Evangelist, Steve counts himself fortunate to be able to work across New York and beyond, driving meaningful, research-based improvements in student support.
